A hugely enjoyable modernisation of Arthurian legend, with a baseball bat substituting for Excalibur. All the performances are excellent and it's Kim Basinger's finest performance (even better than her Oscar-Winning turn in L. A. Confidential).
A good fable, even for those with no interest in baseball. Randy Newman's stirring music is fantastic.
