It's hard to do this story justice on the big screen cuz it's a story that everyone is effected by to some extent. I really liked that they spent a good deal of time with the characters of Mary & Joseph which succesfully invests the viewer.
Castle-Hughes is excellent as usual. The Three Magi were a lil too comical at times and Herod was really no different than any previous depiction I've seen. The drama though of the build up to the birth of Christ and the mood of the times is intact and compelling.
It's a film that is thankfully not over-the-top and suitable for any season.
