Review of The Nativity Story (2006) by Jamie B — 21 Dec 2007
Well made story. I loved that the film showed Joseph as such a noble and righteous character - a trait often overlooked. I also loved the casting of Mary, she was perfect for the role patient, quiet, strong and faithful.
The film also to seriously the stigma that both Joseph and Mary experienced. I didn't like the inaccuracies, especially placing the wise men at the birth of Christ - granted the made one of the wise men black.
If they would have done some more research and stayed closer to the biblical and historical narrative I would have enjoyed it much more.
