Review of The Nativity Story (2006) by Darrell W — 27 Dec 2007
Decent interpretation of the nativity and surrounding events. Not much focus on Mary's pregnancy. She's visited by the angel then in a blink she's 9 months preggers and in need of a manger.
The movie also fails to develop any of the characters thoroughly. But I guess we realistically don't really know much about their personalities anyway. I thought the actress playing Mary was a little boring and unemotional.
The three kings were great. I would recommend showing this film in schools. It importantly reminds the viewer of the geographic/ethnic origins of Christ.
