Review of The Nativity Story (2006) by Helga M — 30 Nov 2008
A very moving and surprisingly accurate portrayal of the Christmas story. Made Mary and Joseph very human. I think my favorite part is in the bazaar when the lady giving them some food tells Joseph the joy of "seeing your own face on a child's face" and you can see Joseph's pain as he is thinking, "But this child won't look like me, it's not mine".
Then Mary quietly reaches over and takes his hand. Gives lots of great cultural background too. A very moving story, I plan to look for it and buy it to add to my collection.
