Review of The Nativity Story (2006) by J K — 28 Dec 2007
What I liked the most about this movie is the fact they made it look plausible. The Nativity had nothing to do with shepherds and wise men and talking animals. Mary gave birth to Jesus in a manger because they were on the run from King Herrod's edict that all first-born sons must die, as illustrated at the beginning of this movie.
They were running for their lives and were forced to resort to giving birth in the Bethlehem manger, which is essentially a barn, because no hotel would take them in because of King Herrod's decree.
You don't have to be a person of faith to enjoy this movie.
