Review of The Nativity Story (2006) by Jose D — 30 Mar 2010
There was nothing wrong with this movie. I hear people say that it needed to be more like The Passion Of The Christ. This is the story about the birth of Jesus Christ and not his death. Catherine Hardwicke has made an underrated and underappreciated epic that follows the feel of most biblical films like The Passion, The Prince Of Egypt, and Ben Hur.
I personally liked this film because of Hardwicke's direction, the actors, and it's cinematography. The only reason that most critics hate it is that they are probably scientologists or atheists.
This should have been an Oscar contender for Best Picture and Best Director. If any first female ever should win Best Director, it should have been Hardwicke.
