The Nativity Story.

I particularly like the Nativity Story. I loved how knowledgeable and grateful they were to in the name of the Bible. The story is set in Nazareth. Mary, the mother of Christ is visited by an angel with a message. The angel's message was that she would be the woman would can birth to the son of God. Although she was a virgin, her pregnant stomach makes her look like she is a liar, because miracles don't just happen. She was accused of fornication. The punishment for such a crime was public execution. Even Joseph (her husband) at first did not believe her. That was until he was visited by the same angel Mary was visited by and was told God's plan. Every man was required to return to the place of their birth to have a child. For Joseph, that was Bethlehem. On the way there Mary goes into labor and is taken in for shelter. They found one at the last minute and Jesus was born.

I thought the best part about this movie is they did not try to change it to please the audience. What I mean by that is they have recited the bible verbatim. They let the bible speak for itself, which is a rare quality these days. The only problem that I noticed in the film was the birth of Jesus. I always believed that Mary endured no pain in the process. Other than that it was spot on.

I wrote this review for my religions class. It relates to what I learned in the Christianity section of the book as well as what I already know. The lessons taught in Christianity from "Living Religions" by Mary Pat Fisher carry over to the Nativity Story. I recommend anyone who has not seen this movie and would like to know more about the story of Mary and Joseph to give this movie a viewing!
