Review of The Nanny Diaries (2007) by Kelly C — 01 Jan 2009
Not bad but not great either. I expected more comedy and humorous situations. I enjoyed the Anthrology perspective on child-rearing and nannying. Paul Giamatti was wonderful in his role as the Child's overworking, cheating father.
Laura Linney just was not evil enough. I expected a Nanny's worse nightmare and she didn't even come close. Poor casting in my opinion. I also never really connected with Chris Evans as "Haden".
His character never improves, just stays constantly flat. Scarlett J and the kid are truly believable characters which thus makes the movie enjoyable.
