Having already seen a few movies with the same theme, I wasn't particularly interested in this. I'm not a huge Jhumpa Lahiri fan either. But I'm happy to say that I really enjoyed the movie.
The direction, the writing, the music, and the actors all came together to produce this amazing world. And this is the first movie in which I liked Kal Penn. I was really impressed with his acting, mad props (and I loved how he was listed in the credits).
And Tabu stole the show. It was more Ashima's movie than anything, and she was an amazing actress.
