Mann's best and most violently edgy film. Ever felt a raw spur to the face? Robert Ryan has. What is fascinating about this film is the limits ever character is pushed to so that they have to reveal their true nature.
As a true genius of mise en scene the more Mann's characters become turmoiled and mistrusting the higher and more rocky the terrain becomes. Fantastic motifs and themes! Must see!
