Review of The Naked Spur (1953) by Zoran S — 15 May 2008
A sublime Western staring James Stewart in one of his darkest roles as an obsessed bounty hunter. The cast is amazing (Robert Ryan, Janet Leigh, and Ralph Meeker!) The film is much more of a dark character study then a straightforward Western.
These Mann/ Stewart colorations are simply amazing. One of the best Westerns and one of the best American films of the 1950s.
