Review of The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear (1991) by Jonny P — 04 May 2013
This is the second movie in the Naked Gun franchise and where we see Frank Drebin and his friends from Police Squad back again to do more zany things. This movie is my favorite out of the three and it is not hard to see why as in this one Frank and Jane split up because Frank didn't understand what it was like to save the environment as where Jane did.
Frank is so oblivious that he bought acres of Brazzilian rainforest just to have it slashed a burned to build their dream home! Lol. Also this movie has business energy tycoons of oil, nuclear power, and coal going after a man named Dr.
Meinhimer who wants to use clean energy and solar power to help the world. They stage a kidnapping of Dr. Minehimer with the help of a business man named Quinten Hapsburg to do all their work. This is the main happening of the film where the greedy businessmen want to keep Minehimer from telling Washington D.
C. about his energy plan because the President Bush Sr. at the time will support all of Minehimer's research; which what leads police squad into action. There is also a hilarious love triangle between Frank, Jane, and Hapsburg where Frank gets very jealous and they spout words that is funny.
Also great acting by all the original cast and once again Nordberg's pain is to the peoples funny bone. The performances by Robert Goulet and Richard Griffiths are funny and memorable along with so many great scenes and good presidential humor this film will give you laugh after laugh.
10 out of 10.
