Good screenwriting, but I simply found it uninteresting. I'm not at all interested in murder-mysteries, but if you are, you might like it. I wasn't particularly captivated by the plot, nor any of the characters, which made this movie tedious to get through.
Can't say it was a bad movie, though; just not the best choice for an introduction to film noir.
