Review of The Mysteries of Pittsburgh (2008) by Vivienne C — 15 Apr 2009
I didn't read the book but might now to take in the source material. I thought it was compelling and deeply moving, but I'm a sucker for "summer of..." movies that look back at significant but short periods of one's life.
Nick Nolte plays a class-conscious mafia boss who doesn't want his son fraternizing with "common" thugs but it's those common people who give Art a sense of feeling alive. Hint: Boy meets boy & girl movie.
