Review of The Music Box (1932) by J M — 02 Sep 2008
Damn near perfect slapstick. In the space of half an hour, L&H take every gag possible surrounding the simple premise of moving a piano up a steep flight of stairs and into a house and milk each one right to the brink of wearing out its welcome but not actually crossing that line.
Bonus points for avoiding the stereotypical harridan and bimbo roles for the female characters which have had me wincing through some of L&H's other shorts.
