Review of The Muppets (2011) by Francisco R — 20 Jan 2013
The Muppets is an outstanding film, I mean, it's just fantastic, I was entertained during the whole time, this movie is just simply a masterpiece, I mean, the script, the characters, the soundtrack, the cameos, everything's just outstanding and who didn't like it must be out of their mind, cause this is just fantastic and kids are not the only one who'll love it, I mean, kids will laugh and then after watching the movie they'll say that The Muppets it's just the best movie ever made, but grown ups will also love it, they will be charmed by the movie's magic, this is truly fantastic, it's one of the best family movies that you'll ever have available and it's personally one of my favorite movies. Terrific movie.
James Bobin is the guy who directed this movie and he did it very well, he created nice characters and he did a fantastic movie. Jason Segel is just okay here, everyone thinks that he takes the lead role, but I think that the title explains who takes the lead role, cause Jason has a very supporting role, he had some great lines but I just watched him on the screen for several times and watching him being just starring at the muppets without even talking seemed very supporting to me, unfortunately that happened, but that's okay, I still think that Jason's a great actor and by the way, he did a great job at "Man or Muppet", Jason is known from Forgetting Sarah Marshall, I Love You, Man, Bad Teacher, Gulliver's Travels and some other movies. Amy Adams was probably even worse, I think that I did not even got used to her character, I mean, it's not her folt but they could make her and Jason appear on the screen and talk for a bit longer, but that's okay, this movie was ment for the muppets, but still, forget it, Amy is known from Charlie Wilson's War, Enchanted, The Fighter and some other movies. Chris Cooper completes the human cast, he was no big deal, he was this movie's bad guy and there was no expectations of Chris being good, he was just average, Chris is known from American Beauty, The Bourne Identity, Adaptation and some other movies. Sow, besides these three 'humans', the rest of the cast is completed by the excellent Muppets, wich were just amazing to watch and then there's lots and lots of cameos, I mean, this might be the only movie that has more cameos than Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy, there was cameos with: Jack Black, Rashida Jones, Zach Galifianakis, Jonh Krasinski, Ken Jeong, Emily Blunt, Kristen Schaal, Alan Arkin and some other people. Sow, overall, I 100% loved the cast, there was good acting, good characters and amazing actors in here. Terrific cast (10/10).
Gary (Jason Segel) is a man with a lovely girlfriend, named Mary (Amy Adams) and a lovely brother named Walter. Gary and Mary are about to celebrate their aniversary in Los Angeles and Walter has taken trip with them because of the fact that his a muppet fan and he wants to meet their studio, wich he didn't know it was empty and that The Muppets have finished their shows. After Gary, Mary and Walter finding out that a Tex Richman wants to drill under the muppet theater for oil, they will try to reunite the gang. They will reunite Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie and all of their friends. The Muppets will have to put on a new show after decades and make sure that they'll make 10 million dollars so the Tex Richman doesn't drill the Muppet theater where all the magic happened.(What I thought about the plot) I loved the plot, it was just fantasticly well written, it really follows the current status of the muppets' popularity. I really loved the script and it worked really well in the movie. Fantastic plot (10/10).
Soundtrack, well, what can I say, it was just fantastic, it was beyond than just awesome, it was a masterpiece soundtrack, there were no themes, but yes some fantastic composed songs, I mean, I just loved them, "Life's A Happy Spng", that song at the end with that weird word, but what really surprassed all of the songs was "Man or Muppet", it desered the Oscar for 100% sure, I mean, I already heard it for like twenty times and for several times in a row, it was amazingly composed and it was on of this movie's best things, trust me, "Man or Muppet" is one of the best oringinal songs created for a movie ever made. Terrific soundtrack (10/10).
Besides all that, I am now going to tell you what I really thought about this movie. First of all, I loved this movie for a reason that no kid will ever understand, it weren't the fart shoes or the Travel by Map thing that I loved this movie, this movie just has a certain glow and class, I mean, don't trust on the PG, you really have to watch it, especially if you were a fan of the muppets when you were younger, cause that way, this movie will be a traveling to your childhood, that's what I think that this movie's about instead of just being directed to be a huge hit. I just can't thing of anything wrong with this movie, I mean, the multiple cameos, the soundtrack, the development of the script, the characters' comments about the songs that they've sung previously (Wich is not usual but it was a fantastic and hilarious idea), all of those things just gave this movie an incredible atmosphere, I just loved it and it's defenitly on of my favorite movies and I defenitly think that it should have been nominated for Best Motion Picture of the Year. Overall, this is a fantastic movie and it's the perfect family movie cause there's some glow that will let kids entertaining and there's other glow that will let the grown ups speachless, this movie is just fantastic, it has a terrific cast, a terrific cast, a terrific script, a terrific script and it's totally entertaining. Watch it if you haven't, it's must more recommended than some rated PG-13 or R movies, trust me, it's truly a masterpiece. The Muppets: 10/10. Masterpiece.
