Please tell me your childhood exposed you to 'The Muppets'. Yes? No? Well it bloody well should have. Too much time spent outside playing or socialising (*tut tut*). Your butts should have been in front of the box, indulging in the brilliant children shows that have recently been on the brink of extinction.

I use to find the muppets hilarious and thankfully I still do. In light of the new 'Muppets: most wanted' movie coming out soon, I thought I better check this one out to see what the modern version of the muppets are offering and it is clear they haven't lost their touch.

Kermit, Miss Piggy & co still produce that humour children, adults and the elderly can enjoy, gifting us one of those occasions when the whole family can congregate round the TV. Musicals are usually a no-go for me but the songs are not overly-frequent or long and the film even manages to show its self-awareness of the cheesiness and make clever references out of it.

I would like to have seen more of certain characters such as Bonzo, Rizzo the rat and Pepe (the Mexican King Prawn) but this is my only gripe and even this is a bit of a stretch. Nostalgic value may have added an extra half star but I'm not apologising since 'The Muppets' is a solid family film that has the rare talent of appealing to all ages.
