Review of The Muppets (2011) by Deven P — 03 Apr 2014
In years to come this will grow to be just like an old pair of slippers that you slip into to feel warm and comforted. The magic recaptured. It's both a homage and a modern reinvention. A journey back in time that in todays economically challenged world shows that the sinicisum of modern family films has become tired and uncomfortably misplaced. The screening finished at 11pm and was full of young adults, most of whom were way too young to remember the TV Muppets.
Demonstrating just how out of touch they are with their customers the distributors and Cineworld chain pulled it soon after to one showing beginning at matinee times, explaining frustratingly why it's not managed to compete with box-office takings of Shrek et al.
