Review of The Muppets (2011) by Dee R — 10 Oct 2012
Mahna Mahna! The Muppets return in all its splendid glory with this terrific and funny film. The film follows Gary and his brother Walter, who is obsessed with the Muppets, traveling to Los Angeles with Gary's girlfriend. There, Walter finds out that a rich oil tycoon plans on buying the Muppets Studio and than drilling for oil under it. Thus, this sets into motion a plan to reunite the Muppets in order to get money so they can buy back the studio.
The film is simply funny and upbeat. Chris Cooper delivers a terrific performance as the film's villain, who also gets a chance to rap, while other terrific songs appear throughout the film. Wonderful cameos also appear in the film, for example Mickey Rooney, Alan Arkin and Emily Blunt. Muppet fans will enjoy it, while the film will also find new die hard fans.
