Review of The Muppets (2011) by Cameron P — 16 Apr 2014
Having never been really introduced to the Muppets when younger, I was somewhat relying on others to persuade me to watch this. I have now been well and truly converted to the 'Muppets' way of life, and thoroughly enjoyed this light-hearted adventure. Whilst perhaps perfect for those who used to be avid fans of the show, it did well to convince a newcomer such as myself. Genuine humour and songs ran throughout, with some lines being particularly memorable, as well as the song: 'am I a man or a muppet' instantly being downloaded to my personal collection. Despite seeing most of the original cast, it was always going to be a challenge to involve the majority. I was however disappointed that my personal favorites (created via my vague knowledge of the Muppets); the two old guys, were used sparingly, although when they did feature they were sure to cause a laugh.
Having indulged in this first film of a presumed reinvented Muppets series, I am very much looking forward to seeing what the latest release entails. A great film for the whole family. You'd be a Muppet to miss it.
