Review of The Muppet Movie (1979) by Ashley C — 31 May 2008
If Orson Welles' final role had to be in a children's movie, why couldn't it have been his 45-second cameo here, in which he finally gets to tell the Hollywood system that chewed him up and spit him out what to do with itself?
Henson & Co. never got things as perfectly balanced between charm, satire, well-crafted (and poignant) music, and humor both high and low as they did here. Loved it as a child, as a college student, and as an adult.
