Review of The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992) by Juan C — 12 Jan 2011
The Muppets were certainly ahead of their time and this faithful retelling has moments of delight. It certainly captures a Christmas spirit and is a great film for the season. Michael Caine is a great Scrooge and manages to sell the change of heart he finds.
Compared to the recent release this film is the better for not turning events simply into eye candy. In no way does Scrooge need to fly like Superman to add effect to the timeless tale.
