Review of The Mummy's Tomb (1942) by Sandra M — 11 Apr 2009
When your movie is barely over an hour long you probably shouldn't start it off with over 10 minutes of stock footage from the previous film. Honestly, why rehash a story that wasn't that well written to begin with? That said, in this one the Mummy takes on the old kill off a whole bloodline gimmick.
The leads from the last film are the victims here and are also elderly which really messes with the series timeline but if you put that much thought into it your brain will start to rot like Kharis. Lon Chaney is Kharis here and you really couldn't guess it if it wasnt in the credits.
..what a useless role to get stuck with. However it did show shines of improving on the previous film but the 50 minutes of new material really don't give you enough to care about. It's a passable B entry into the genre.
..nothing more.
