Review of The Mummy Returns (2001) by Gary C — 01 Mar 2010
To a certain extent, it feels a lot like a typical sequel. It has many references to the original, they overdo the action a bit, they bring in more kinds of mummies, and they exaggerate the gross stuff a bit more (bugs eating people, Imhotep absorbing people, etc.).
But none of that stuff really ruined the movie. I think that none of those factors were really overdone at all. They were all pretty enjoyable to me.
This one was pretty similar to the original but with more action and a more complex plot. It's not as good as the first one, but it's still a lot of fun.
