A huge adventure! For me, one of the greatest of cinema, and this felling come, specially for the great soundtrack. The action scenes are greats, with a little bit less fighting than the first one, but still wonderfull, being the highlights: the fight at the bus and the battle between the Medjais and Anubis' army.

Of course that "The Mummy Returns" has its problems, the excess of special effects is one of then, for example, the beetle assaults is to articials than before, and some times the actors were replaced by CG figures in unnecessary way. The story really gets so many element from previus movie, but the Returns made a lot of jokes to overpass this, as the moment when the boy had problems to read the symbol that his ucle also had in last movie.

And the humor stills to be a very strong point of the movie, the O'Connel's son had everything to be an annoying character, but his jokes with his uncle saved him, and, specially from Fraiser: when he entered the catacumb just steping over the bugs after Evy did it very carefuly; and in the last act when he watched while Imothep said to Escorpion King that he is the defiant.

Maybe The Mummy Return is not one of the cinema classics because to be only a comercial movie, or better, a movie that knows that were done only to be entretainment, without any ambiton to be a classic. Even this, without wanting it, became one of the greatest, better e funnier advertures of all time.

Uma grande aventura! Para mim, uma das maiores do cinema, e esse sentimento todo vem, principalmente, da trilha sonora, que é quase perfeita. As seqüências de ação são ótimas, com menos lutas que o do primeiro longa, é verdade, mas mesmo assim maravilhosas. Destaco a luta no ônibus londrino e a batalha entre o exército Medjai e o de Anubis.

Claro que O Retorno da Múmia tem seus defeitos, o excesso de efeitos especiais são um deles, como por exemplo, os ataques de escaravelhos estão mais artificiais do que anteiormente, e muitas vezes os próprios atores são substituídos por figuras de Computação Gráfica de forma desnecessária. A trama realmente pega muitos elementos emprestados do filme anterior, no entanto, este mesmo contorna isto de forma a fazer brincadeiras justamente por isso, como o fato do garoto ter problemas para ler o mesmo símbolo que seu tio teve no primeiro confronto.

E o humor continua um ponto fortíssimo dele, o filho do casal tinha tudo para ser um personagem irritante, mas sua parceria com o tio o salvou, além de especialmente Fraiser, em duas cenas: quando ele entra em uma catacumba pisando nos escaravelhos enquanto Evy havia desviado; e no último ato quando ele observa Imothep dizendo ao Escorpião Rei que ele é que o está desafiando.

Talvez não seja considerado um dos clássicos do cinema por ser um filme, talvez, puramente comercial, ou melhor, um filme que sabe que foi feito apenas para divertir, sem nenhuma ambição de se tornar um. Mesmo assim, involuntariamente se tornou uma das maiores, melhores e mais engraçadas aventuras de todos os tempos.
