Review of The Mummy (2017) by Jennifer G — 21 Jun 2017
I really have no idea why this was poorly rated. We've watched it twice in two days and enjoyed every second; in fact the 2nd time was better than the first. This has non-stop action, a new take that has nothing to do with the other Mummy franchise and the kids loved it.
This is really not for kids under 10 as the scary parts and monsters would cause nightmares, but most kids over 10 will be well entertained. The lead drinks too much and is not the most moral person but (spoiler) attempts to redeem himself which is nice change from recent movies that either glorify and condone evil or worse, portray all male characters as weak, stupid and bad and all female characters as perfect.
Nice varied mix and interesting new concept. Getting so sick of nothing but remakes.
