Review of The Mummy (2017) by Jesse F — 11 Jul 2017

Okay so this movie is completely underrated. Yes it's not exactly a horror movie. It's not Brendan Fraser good. But, even though it's not a horror movie by the standards of current times. It's still great.

I mean, it's hard to scare people now. we've seen everything from saw to a nightmare on elm street. How can everyone expect this movie to be anything other than what it is. Now would a truly terrifying mummy movie be great? Yes.

But watch the original mummy from like the 60's or something. I bet now days even a child wouldn't be scared. For the movie that was made, I think this movie did great. It didn't live up to expectations as a horror movie.

But as a movie that makes me want more, makes me think this could be an actual franchise. This movie did exactly what it needed to. We live in a day where if the audience wants something to happen in a show or movie, all we have to do is voice our opinions collectively and something will probably be done about it.

We control what movies come out and what happens in them. It's not like it used to be. Where movies were made and you went to see them and you just liked them or you didn't. You didn't get to pick which monster got a movie.

And so on. All in all. Good movie. People need to look at it from a different perspective. Not on how did as a horror movie or a reboot. But how it did as a movie by itself.
