The Mummy hardly understands itself. As an action film, the scenes are so haphazard they might as well have been an accident. As a horror, it lacks any sort of believable authenticity in its storytelling to make any element consistent and interesting.
As a starting point for the Dark Universe Cinematic Universe, it's an abysmal failure. Not even big stars like Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe could save this forgettable flick.
