Review of The Mummy (2017) by Jess_Hill — 14 Jun 2017
Designed to introduce the 'Dark Universe', this lump of meh is a disappointing experience that has some great sequences, but is hampered by an awful script, inconsistent tone, and lack of panache. The cinematography is solid, and some of the action sequences are inspired. However, whilst the storyline is adequate, the film languishes in mediocrity throughout. It's not a truly terrible film, more a boring one, which simply isn't acceptable in this genre. 5.56/10*.
*Go and see Wonder Woman instead/again.
