Review of The Mummy (2017) by Obiewankenobi — 08 Jun 2017
Just saw the Mummy. This could have been a good movie. There are a few mistakes in the story that make the movie silly or stupid. Spoiler Alert! Russell Crowe as Dr Jekyll / Mr Hyde is ridiculous.
Tom Cruise has a side kick that comes back like a talking zombie from American Werewolf in London. Also, remember the 4 prong syringe from "Edge of Tomorrow?" That same syringe is what keeps Dr.
Jekyll from becoming Mr. Hyde. Okay, one more over-done Mummy movie cliche' - that of a sand storm taking on the face shape of the mummy monster. We have seen it too many times - stop doing it. Other than those major issues, I enjoyed the movie.
The mummy lady (from Star Trek) is very convincing.
