I went into this one open minded.... It was tough because The Mummy & The Mummy Returns were my favorite movies growing up. I wanted to give this one a chance... But man... Wow. God awful. I've got nothing against Tom Cruise & Russell Crowe.
Two great actors. But why did they agree this. Honestly, it's not even fun. Just bad. I'll watch Tomb of the Dragon Emperor five consecutive times before watching this crap again. Such lame CGI.
.. At least in the 1999 movie, they used practical effects and real people dressed in bandages. And they're mummy was actually creepy... Not some twenty something year old acress covered in tattoos.
Basically... It's another politically correct movie. It's 2017 --- so Hollywood HAS to have a female mummy. How can someone say this piece of shit is better then The Mummy Returns. At least that movie was fun AND enjoyable.
The mummies in this movie do the damn MJ Thriller dance!!! Skip this one peeps... you ain't missing much. If this one continues to get negative and nasty reviews, not sure how Universal is going to continue with it's Dark Universe.
Johnny Depp as the Invisible Man & Javier Bardem as the Frankenstein monster sound AMAZING. If they do decide to put those movies into production, PLEASE GOD get better screenwriters. Only good thing is that this mummy is smokin' hot.
That's basically....the best part of the movie. Her looks. Crazy, I know. Still can't get over how bad this was... I hope Cruise decides to do Mission Impossible 7 before he does a sequel to this garbage again.
Bring back Stephen Sommers & Brenden Fraser!!!
