As opposed to many filmgoers, I like Cruise's films. Usually. But as we become more savvy, we can smell a bad film early on. The trailers made it clear that the villain brought nothing new, and in fact, didn't engender an ounce of fear or thrill.
Skip this mess, and move on to something better.
