Really fun adventure film that works on all levels. The story telling and direction are pretty great, the acting although not award winning is perfect for the movie and the effects look good, it is even funny too.

This movie also kinda started Brendan Fraser on the career path he has taken since then, he has done a bunch of films like these, and he fits the mold perfectly. Oh yeah, and Rachel Weisz is very beautiful, although she looks even better in the sequel.

Overall a great fun monster movie that should be taken for what it is and thus enjoyed.
