The Mummy, I think is a mind of senseless fun anyone can really watch. What do I think? Well for one, considering 13 Days of Halloween, I still think it's a cool, interesting and fun film to watch. I mean, there isn't anything remotely, "perfect" or "negative" about it, but, to be honest, this is one of those films where I can literally watch over and over again without getting bored by it, I can't necessarily deny how much awesome fun I had watching this movie.

So what's the story? In Egypt, 1290 BC, a priest has fallen in love with the princess named Anck-su-Namun (Anok-su-Namoon) tongue twister isn't it? The priest Imhotep played by Dwayne Johnson's stunt double, OK it's not his stunt double but you gotta admit, the actors DO LOOK similar. Anyway, Imhotep is found out about the secret and eventually is sentenced to immortal suffering complete with being mummified alive with scarab beetles going on all over his body.

About 3000 years later an adventurer, an Egyptologist and her brother played by Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz (who looks pretty in almost every single shot) are on a mission and accidentally sets free the exact Mummy who was killed 3000 years ago, who wants to revive her beloved once more by sacrificing Evy (Rachel Weisz). And its up to them to stop Imhotep before his plans succeed.

Pretty straightforward right? Well, to be fair, the plot is simple, but, you wanna something else. It works, and I mean, it REALLY WORKS. This is something pretty original and pretty interesting. I don't know why but for some strange bizarre reason, I'm fascinated by this movie.

The acting, while not really golden, is pretty well taken care of, I find myself laughing a lot. The cinematography of Egypt is pretty breathtaking, the music is memorable, the comedy I find myself laughing a lot. The scares, pretty well dang executed.

For some bizarre reason, because of how fascinated by the movie I am, I cannot find anything wrong with this picture, there are some questionable scenes, but I'm so distracted by the next bit and the next bit that honestly I could care less.

For a review, you would expect a lot more, but for this movie I can't find anything wrong with pure sensible splurging of ecstasy in which I'm just too distracted of what's going on that I simply cannot downgrade what I'm watching. It may not be one of the best films, seeing how there are more better out there nor a film that acquires the best acting, the best pacing, or even the best sense of logical thinking and storytelling. But I CANNOT deny how much fun I have with this film, whether some people may think it's just a popcorn flick or not is anybody's guess.

I can unwind a while.

The Mummy: Fun popcorn-flick, distracting you.
