Review of The Mummy (1999) by Valentin P — 02 Apr 2014
The film was directed by Stephen Sommers. It was based on "The mummy" which was maked on 1932. The film stars Brendan Fraser (O'Connel), Racehl Weisz (Evelyn Carnarvon), Kevin'J O'Connor and Anorld Vosloo (the reanimated mummy). The mains characters are archeologists.
The Mummy is an Action & Adventure, Horror, Mystery and suspense film.
3 000 years ago, the high priest Imhotep was jealous of the Pharaoh because he was the husband of Anck-Su-Namun, the misstress of the Pharaoh. He murdered him and her was punished for that : he was buried alive and suffer the torment oan eternal life in his wretched tomb. The 3 archeologist reanimed Imhotep by mistake.
The plot seems to be absorbing and gripping. But, I find the special effects stunning and cheap.
The photography is normal, nothing to say about that.
I foud the acting natural and spectacular.
The script is compelling, but it was adapted from an old other film.
I find this film very exciting ! I love action and horror movies. I think it's a good film that everybody have to see. The plot is absorbing. I recommend this film to anyone who loves this type of film.
