Review of The Mummy (1999) by Mike T — 13 Aug 2014
It's pretty and full of action, comedy, adventure, fun and even some brooding dark moments. A little too much cheesiness and violence as it really isn't that good except for selling tickets to regular people that like all the Star Wars and Star Trek movies.
It's actually a lot better than that, it's really not that pedestrian but it was a little violent and that's what makes it so cutting edge. Very adult movie made for people with mature tastes.
It was another exciting masterpiece made by and for happy people without too many problems, I enjoyed very much for being deliciously subtle and haunting, with the neat characters and scenes of Egypt, it had everything I like in movies.
There were a lot of great heroics and lots of interesting characters. I loved Benny, the rat faced goon. He was hilarious. I also loved the Fraser and Weisz characters I found them fascinating and amazing to watch, there were some dreamy scenes and some excellent drama to go along with a wildness that I thoroughly enjoy in movies.
I enjoy the wild, free ones like this. So good.
