Review of The Mule (2014) by Ryan J — 01 Jan 2015
A cracking Aussie film where Angus Sampson plays Ray, a naive bloke who plays for the local AFL team, on their end of season trip to Thailand he is talked into becoming a drug mule for an old childhood friend and when coming back into Australia is detained by the federal police, kept in a motel room under watch while the police officers wait for him to shit out the contents.
They can hold him for 7 days so it becomes a test of patience for all involved to see if he will shit the lot or hold it in until he is released. This film is very entertaining, it's well written, Angus Sampson and Hugo Weaving are great, especially Weaving playing the hard nosed veteran cop who doesn't give a fuck.
There are moments of brutality, it has a good sense of humour and in one particular scene, so gross it may make you wretch. Check it out.
