Review of The Mountain Between Us (2017) by Lenard W — 07 Oct 2017
An oncoming storm grounds all flights out of Idaho. An neurosurgeon and photojournalist on her way to her wedding need to fly out so they charter a flight with a former Vietnam chopper pilot to Denver.
On the way, their pilot has a stroke and the two crash somewhere in Utah. Suddenly, two strangers are forced to rely exclusively on each other to survive against the elements of nature (snow, mountaineous terrain, cougars, giant killer bunnies, etc.
) They ultimately survive which should not shock anyone who watches survivalist movies, but they are not the same people before. They are the only people who will know what they endured (except for the people who watch this film.
) Idris Elba and Kate Winslet are superb in their respective roles and the photography is great, but this is a film that only needs to be seen on a cold night with a hot cup of cocoa and some girlfriends.
