Review of The Motorcycle Diaries (2004) by Joeri L — 24 Sep 2008
Great movie! Gael Garcia Bernal is very convincing as a young Ché who's still enjoying life, but at the same time starting to realize there's more than this life. And Rodrigo De la Serna plays at the same level: Alberto is the real South American "Italian", although you can see sometimes even he has serious thoughts.
Il Ponderosa, Mambo-Tango enlighten the movie: the incredible landscapes show a marvellous continent, with a lot of possibilities. I missed these really amazing views in the book, but, in the end, both book and movie narrate in between the lines the same thing.
Really strong movie.
