Review of The Mothman Prophecies (2002) by Kyle A — 26 Apr 2012
"The Mothman Prophecies" is a taut mystery flick, letting atmosphere and the fear of the unseen do the dirty work of crawling within one's brain and psyching them out. Mark Pellington doesn't go for the cheap scares, directing his actors to wonderfully suspense-inducing performances instead.
Will Patton ("Armageddon" "Wendy and Lucy") is especially promising here, sending chills down spines in a performance that doesn't go over the top like many actors would take it.
"The Mothman Prophecies" is Arpke Approved at 4 stars out of 5.
