Review of The Mothman Prophecies (2002) by Harry W — 24 Jul 2016
Really kinda boring throughout. I think the reason why they decided to cast two frustratingly boring actors together to headline a moody supernatural and often too clinical thriller was because Chicago had just come out in the same year and I guess they assumed that Richard Gere was headlining his own return to fame? Truthfully, what I disliked the most about the film was the banality of the whole thing, it just drags and I didn't feel connected to any of the characters.
The overly long film starts to really get on your nerves towards the end, as you feel that you've wasted quite a bit of time viewing it and wish that you hadn't. Overall, the performances aren't bad but they feel unnecessary, the whole film just feels slightly unnecessary.
Best part of the film was probably the story, it actually wasn't bad and had its fair share of original elements.
