Review of The Mothman Prophecies (2002) by Joshua L — 07 Feb 2012
In a world where ghosts live by procedure and show up at seances, exorcisms and the like, it's refreshing to see a creature who doesn't live by the confines of tradition. The Mothman incredibly is a neutral spirit, not a malevolent being, as many supernatural creatures are portrayed, merely predicting future events.
This thriller portrays a sleepy town held in the clutches of this being, giving the film an almost dystopian atmosphere. The acting is real and the story is incredibly memorable. The Mothman Prophecies relies on eeriness and story, instead of jump scenes and scares.
