Don't let all the negative reviews fool you. I actually really enjoyed this movie. It's true that it tries too hard and takes itself too seriously, but that somehow manages to lend to its appeal.
The characters are just creepy enough to be intriguing and the plot, while not without its laughably bad parts, is actually pretty engaging. I was very pleasantly surprised.
