Review of The Most Dangerous Game (1932) by David K — 27 May 2008
I was very intrigued to see this film because the short story is one of my all time favorites. But let's be honest, the film just didn't compete. If there's any movie/story that deserves to be remade today, it's "The Most Dangerous Game.
" The inclusion of a female character was absolutely ridiculous, and what happened to Zaroff's accent? It was not Russian. The film should be noted for breaking ground with talking pictures, and I'm sure for 1932, this film was a smash, but by today's standards it's just not that good.
It can be said that it followed the original story pretty well, and the film does only last one hour, but I can't recommend this movie because it just doesn't hold up that well today.
