Review of The Most Dangerous Game (1932) by David L — 29 Nov 2017
A short, fast, punchy little thriller with a sadistic core. Leslie Banks makes for an excellent, unhinged killer. When McCrea rejects his offer of a handshake and his surrender, Banks seems genuinenly surprised.
Although unintentionally funny at times, particularly during the build up to the chase, the hunt itself is gripping and dramatic. This film is not just a notorious oddity but thrilling and gripping too.
Well worth a viewing. And ripe for a remake.
