Review of The Mosquito Coast (1986) by Corine G — 09 Jun 2007
If any of you love me, you will see this movie. It's my favorite movie, it's why I got into films, and its an amazing performance by Harrison Ford. Forget Han Solo and Indiana Jones and Jack Ryan.
Ford is one of the great actors and it's easy to forget that. This movie says so much about our American lifestyle, how we put value on junk and lose track of what's really important. The film is incredibly alienating, and it takes you to a place of madness, and the only other thing I can relate this to is Moby Dick.
Both stories aren't afraid to go there...
