Review of The Mosquito Coast (1986) by James T — 02 Aug 2008
As is true with alot of my favorite movies, not alot of people liked this one. I personally loved it. Its good to see Harrison Ford in one of his rare non-action movies, he's actually pretty good in them. The director, Peter Wier, is fast becoming one of my favorite directors, what with this, Truman Show, Witness, and Master and Commander.
The story is very interesting, and, I think, quite bold. Harrison is great, as is Helen Mirren in an earlier performance. She plays his wife. It could have been a contradictory character, but she talentfully pulled it off.
BEST SCENE- The whole thing, I'd say. Can't really think of a specific stand out scene.
