I noticed that while my mom was watching this movie with me she didn't know what was going on sometimes. And that's not a good thing to make a movie only understandable for people who has read the book is a sign that it wasn't well developed.
They need to make it so people who has not read the book could understand what is going on. I had to tell my mom a lot of things before she could understand what happened or didn't happen or whether it was true, etc.
