Review of The Moon and Sixpence (1942) by Blair K — 02 Jul 2014
Interesting thought provoking movie. george sanders plays strickland a character you love to hate. he is a cad and reckless but at the same time engaging to watch. no wonder herbert marshall character in the movie hates him and intrigued by him at the same time.
I feel for the character of strove. cant place the actor that plays that part but I feel for him. he is completely devoted to his wife and she hates strickland only to later end up leaving strove for strickland.
dont know if she fell for him or just wanted to escape her boring dull life. such a shame. ultimately dirk strover was used by his wife and strickland ended up using her. she was nothing to him but an art subject.
overrall good drama and worth watching. :).
